Rhino Room – Makatron Mural

Written by mtwmedia on . Posted in Blog

Makatron, originally from Adelaide and now resides in Melbourne, is renowned for his creative street art in Australia and overseas. Over 3 days in a hot Adelaide summer he went to town on the Rhino Room wall on Frome Street in the city.
Loaded with iconic images I’m sure you’ll agree, this mural is pretty unique to Adelaide.

An awesome venue for any night out and one of the best to see some comedy in South Australia, with regular performances from a number of well known and up and coming comedians.

Rhino Room is always good for a laugh and is located at 13 Frome Street in the heart of the East end, between North Tce and Rundle Street.

Curious Creatures – Our journey has begun

Written by mtwmedia on . Posted in Blog, Curious Creatures, HOME, Videos

Curious Creatures is an interactive installation designed by Jimmy McGilchrist. After two appearances in Australia, the Lismore Lantern Parade and Splendour in the Grass Jimmy was invited over to South Africa for the installations first international viewing. I was lucky enough to be invited along by Jimmy to document the project from start to finish.
“Curious Creatures at Vryfees Festival” is a series of short videos that follow the crew behind Curious Creatures’ journey from Sydney to Bloemfontein South Africa, mainly focusing on the Festival itself, this video is where our journey begins…

The last few days has been pretty crazy but i’m hoping to get these videos up every few days. The installation itself is very impressive so I hope I can capture the experience in the videos.
So keep a look out, like Curious Creatures on facebook and check out the Curious Creatures website for more info.

‘Rising Up’ – new DH Film
by Liam Renaut Productions

Written by mtwmedia on . Posted in Blog, Downhill MTB, MTB Films, Videos

Liam Renaut has been a busy boy over the past 6 months. As well as filming the entire 2011/12 National series over summer, he’s also spent time catching up with some of Australia’s fastest guns in the downhill scene today. Including two times Junior World Champion Troy Brosnan, current World Cup Series female leader Tracey Hannah riding for their new Hutchinson United Ride Team, plus Joey Vejvoda and Andrew Crimmins.

Below: Liam lines up the next shot while Troy, as usual, waiting to walk back up, gets a few breaths in. Although he is only 18 he’s pretty much a veteran of this routine now.

Troy and Liam on the shoot

I was lucky enough to film with Liam for  Troy’s section on a local trail. Liam had his ideas sussed and it was cool to work with a young keen young filmmaker like him. I’m sure you’ll agree, he has the editing dialed in and as much as his filming.

Troy getting it dialed in

During the shoot, since my video shots were setup and locked off on the tripod, I managed to take a few stills of Troy pinning it in his new kit, complete with the Aussie flag down one side, made after he took the title for Australian National Champion at Eagle Park in February. Best of luck to Troy during the world cup series this year.
